What a beautiful experience! This is David's En-Gedi where he hid from Saul in 2 Samuel. Surrounded by wilderness and located by the dead sea this oasis in the desert is filled with waterfalls, clear pools, and distant caves hidden in the face of tall cliffs. I have been capturing this experience so you can really see what is waiting for you when you join with http://www.commitministries.com and become actively involved in mission work prepared and waiting for your involvement. Camera, editing and post production work by Jason Smurzynski and Dawn Marie. Public Eye Media.

Visit http://www.commitministries.com for more short term mission trip destinations and current schedules. Begin your active ministry lifestyle today! It was here in Caesarea Philippi that Jesus spoke to Peter in Matthew 16:18 saying, "Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." A spring emerge's from the large cave which became the center of pagan worship. Beginning in the 3rd century B.C., sacrifices were cast into the cave as offerings to the god Pan. Pan, the half-man half-goat god of fright ("panic"), is often depicted playing the flute. Adjacent to the sacred cave is a rocky escarpment with a series of hewn niches. We know that statues of the deity were placed in these niches by depictions of such on coins of the city. One niche housed a sculpture of Echo, the mountain nymph and Pan's consort. Another niche housed a statue of Pan's father, Hermes, son of nymph Maia. Inscriptions in the niches mention those who gave large donations.
